Think of your time on the Zambezi Queen not as a mere river cruise but as a floating boutique hotel that explores approximately 25km of the Chobe River, weather permitting, while returning to the same point each evening. Embark on a uniquely African adventure with uninterrupted views of the Chobe National Park, home to over 120,000 elephants and many other remarkable wildlife. The Zambezi Queen sails on scheduled weekly departures every Monday (two nights), Wednesday (two nights) and Friday (three nights).
There is no best or worst time to visit the Chobe area, because every month offers visitors something special. If you’re looking for a pure wildlife experience, the drier winter months from May to October see greater concentrations of game along the banks of the Chobe River. The summer months from November to April see the birdlife explode with the addition of the summer migrants to the area. If you’re a fishing enthusiast, you’ll be excited to know that we have excellent fishing through the summer and winter – it’s just that the techniques we use change.
The Zambezi Queen offers luxury accommodation in the form of 14 tasteful and luxurious suites – ten suites and and four luxury suites, all with outer decks so you can soak up the revitalising Chobe River breeze and appreciate uninterrupted views of the unique African landscape beyond. For added comfort, our four luxury suites at the bow of the boat are more spacious and have two balconies to allow for a panoramic view. On the larger balcony, there are two deckchairs and a table; the perfect place to enjoy a private front-row seat while the boat is sailing. Each of our 14 suites sleeps two people. Each suite opens onto a front facing balcony. Two of the suites are triple rooms which offer a third single bed and can be used for a third adult.
A third person sharing a triple room will receive a 20% discount on the per person sharing rate. The middle deck has a guide cabin with single bed configuration. All suites are equipped with:
